Saheed Lawal is a PhD student in Dr Prerana Shrestha Lab. His general research interest is cognitive, behavioral, and memory dysfunction in neurodevelopmental and neurodegenerative disorders. His work focuses on molecular and cognitive effects of cell type-specific deletion of TSC-2 gene in tuberous sclerosis complex mouse model. Saheed received his Bachelor's degree in Physiology from the Federal University of Technology Akure (FUTA), Nigeria. While at FUTA, he non-invasively assessed cardiac autonomic functions in apparently healthy students. He is passionate about developing novel therapies to ease the life of patients living with cognitive, behavioral or memory impairments. In his free time, he enjoys exploring nature, watching and playing soccer.
